Anytime the composite word “deadly disease” is mentioned, a lot of persons often mistake it for common diseases like cancer, diabetes among others. This is no doubt a misconception.

There are many uncommon diseases which have proven to be more deadlier than the common diseases we have known. Some of these deadly diseases kill very fast while some are known for manifesting their various potencies slowly.

In respect to this article, let us discuss about diseases that kill very fast. It would definitely be very advantageous if we take note of these diseases. Knowing their pathological characters could also be helpful. And most importantly, identifying how to prevent these diseases.

Here are some of the diseases that can kill within a day or under few hours.

1. Meningitis

Meningitis is an uncommon infection that affects the thin membrane called meninges. The meninges covers the brain and spinal cord. Meningitis is often caused by some pathogens, such as Viruses, Fungi and bacteria.

We also learned that the most deadliest type of Meningitis is the one caused by bacteria, which is medically known as Bacterial Meningitis.

Research has also proven that Bacteria Meningitis is capable of eliminating the life of its victim within four hours depending on the level of immunity demonstrated by the nervous system.

It is also worthy note that Meningitis is a contagious disease therefore,  it could be contacted through coughing, kissing, sneezing among other processes of passing respiratory droplets. Early detection and accurate diagnosis is very important to curb its life-threatening activities.

It is highly recommendable to take vaccines that could reduce the risk of having Meningitis when a child is born. Many infections induce Meningitis, thus avoiding all infection is the best preventative measure to adopt.

2. Necrotising Fasciitis

Necrotising Fasciitis is another uncommon disease that kills very fast. It spreads quickly to almost all the body tissues, most especially the skin tissues.

This ailment is popularly known as a flesh-eating disease because it attacks and destroys the soft tissues of the body. It is caused by streptococcus bacteria and its ability to kill is relatively high.

We also learned that its rapid mode of spreading is one of the reasons why it could kill within few hours.

3. Stroke

Stroke is an abnormal condition that occurs when there is blockage to the flow of blood into some parts of the brain, thereby cutting off oxygen.

Under few seconds, an ischemic stroke kills over 2 million brain cells. This is one of the reasons why ischemic stroke is capable of eliminating the life of its victim within few hours. There are different types of stroke which kills slowly while there are types that kill very fast. A massive stroke kills under two hours.

4. Cholera

Cholera is a diarrhoeal disease that can kill under two hours depending on its nature. It is caused by the consumption of contaminated water and foods. Statistics has proven that thousands of people die every year as a result of cholera.

5. Ebola

Ebola Virus is another deadly disease that can kill under few minutes or hours. It causes bleeding from internal organs. The outbreaks of Ebola have occurred in several African countries and its impacts have been of high negative significance.

6. Pneumonic Plague

Pneumonic Plague is a heavy bacterial disease that is characterized by fever and delirium which mostly affects the lung. It is a very fatal disease that can kill within few hours if left untreated. It is also a contagious disease which can spread through respiratory droplets.

7. Congenital Heart Disease

Congenital Heart Disease as the name implies is a heart defect which mostly affects infants. This disease kills thousands of little children every year and it kills very fast, sometimes within hours because it causes defects in heart supporting tissues.

8. Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP)

When someone suffering from epilepsy dies for no reason, it is regarded as sudden unexpected death in epilepsy.

Epilepsy is a manageable health condition which has no potent impact on the life of its victim.

SUDEP is a very complicated topic to talk about because of the worrisome mysteries it entails. Though, very few persons die every year as a
